| Hello, and a very warm welcome to Lincsbirder.
On this site you can view my attempts at wildlife photography, with
a particular emphasis on birds. I'm not a professional
photographer but I am always trying to improve on my photography
skills. I take the photographs purely as a hobby because I
love seeing wildlife and the photographs are my way of recording
what I see. All the photographs shown
on this site are taken
by me, mostly but not exclusively in Lincolnshire. I am not a
lister or a twitcher, therefore you won't find photographs of any
particularly rare birds unless one happens to turn up in my local
area. I have no problem with people who twitch birds or keep
lists but I am just happy to try and take good photographs of common
birds and any other wildlife.
This site will display at it's best when viewed in Internet
Explorer 6.0 or above. If you are using the Firefox web
browser it displays the menu in a continuous line instead of a
group. This makes the page much wider than a computer screen
and an awful lot of scrolling has to be done to access the pages.
The reason for this is because this site uses shared top and bottom
borders and Firefox is unable to display them properly.
If you are a regular visitor using Firefox the easiest way to see
any new updates is by going to the
Latest updates page and then access the new photographs from
there.
Although this site was primarily set up to display my bird
photographs, you can also view photographs of other wildlife and
flora that I manage to capture with the camera. Dragonflies,
Damselflies and Butterflies are particular favourite subjects of
mine. These can all be found in the appropriate galleries. The
miscellaneous gallery contains photographs that don't fit in any
other gallery.
Please note, as of the 13th August 2008. All photographs
displayed on the site have been taken with a Canon EOS 40D camera
unless stated otherwise.
As far as I am aware all the images on this site are correctly
named using the common name and the latin name. However if you
find or think that there are any wrongly named images please
contact me.
All the photographs are copyright, please ask
Roger for
permission before using any for your own purposes. Permission
will usually be granted as long as they are for personal or
not for profit use only.
Enjoy the site and feel free to leave any comments you may
have in the guestbook. There is a link
to the guestbook in the top and bottom navigation system of all the
main pages or you can send an e-mail to
Roger
